Steam has many advantages to offer, including the possibility of taking screenshots on the fly. Unfortunately, the images are just dumped in the same location, regardless of what games you've captured. This is where Screenhive comes in. It is capable of properly organizing your screenshots, based on game titles, which makes it much easier to find all your snapshots from a specific video game.

Downloading and installing Screenhive is a quick and uneventful operation. It works on all modern Windows systems and it is available for Mac OS X as well. The hardware requirements are modest and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools or services. Also, the application is offered completely free of charge.

You don't have to spend too much time with Screenhive, thanks to its clean and simple design. It comes with a compact user interface, with options for targeting a source folder and a destination. Obviously, Steam's screenshots folder should be selected as the source and the target can be any folder on the hard drive. Once your selection is complete, you only need to click a button and the application will get started right away.

It takes only a few seconds to organize even a large number of screenshots. When the process is complete, you will find your images neatly sorted in sub-folders. The best part is that Screenhive uses game titles to name these folders. In other words, you will find all the screenshots from one game in their own folder, while the snapshots from another game will be found in a separate folder.

Besides selecting a source and a destination, you will have to make a few preparations first. The software works with uncompressed images, in PNG format, and Steam saves your screenshots in JPEG format by default. This is why you will have to go to the Steam client's Settings panel and set the program to store your screenshots in a specific folder and to save uncompressed copies as well. The changes can be made in no time and you only need to make them once.

With Screenhive, you can turn a disorganized heap of Steam screenshots into a well organized collection at a moment's notice.

Pros

You can organize screenshots based on video game titles. The procedure is quick and easy. The application is lightweight, it can be installed in under a minute and it doesn't use too many resources.

Cons

You have to make a few changes to the Steam client's settings, because Screenhive only works with uncompressed PNG images.
